Sports Premium Funding

The government is continuing to provide additional funding for the academic 2025-26 to enhance the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools.

At River this funding will be used to:

• Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport

• To offer a broader experiences in a range of new and challenging sports for all

•  Increased participation in competitive sport at a variety of levels, ensuring personal challenge to all

• The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement

• Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils

•  To ensure children understand and consider healthy lifestyles.

By allocating funding in this way we aim to achieve sustainable improvement for a time when funding is no longer available.
