    School Uniform Policy

    Principles
It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning environment. We believe that certain activities are facilitated by appropriate clothing whether in school, or when participating in a school-organised event. We provide a complete list of the items needed for our school uniform in this policy.

    Aims
Our policy for school uniform is based on the belief that a school uniform:

    • promotes a sense of pride in the school
    • engenders a feeling of community and belonging
    • is practical and smart
    • identifies the children with the school
    • makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
    • is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents
    • is designed with health and safety in mind.

Our main colour is navy blue, items listed below are embroidered or printed with the school logo

              All Children require:

    • Navy sweatshirt with school logo
    • White polo shirt with school logo
    • Shoes - black [no high heels, sling backs, open backs or platform shoes. No boots or boot style trainers]  Trainers are allowed to be worn but these must be leather, wipeable and plain black with no logos in different colours.
    • White or grey sock

             For PE all children need:

    • House colour t-shirt with school logo
    • Black/navy PE shorts or cycle shorts
    • A pair of plimsolls and trainers
    • Plain navy tracksuit for outdoor P.E. in colder weather
    • Gym bag

             Additional optional items:

    • Optional Navy reversible fleece jacket with school logo
    • Navy book bag with school logo
    • Backpack in 2 sizes for KS1 and 2 with school logo
    • Navy cap or sun hat with school logo

    Jewellery
For health and safety reasons we do not allow children to wear jewellery in school. If children have pierced ears a small pair of plain stud earrings may be worn. These must be removed for PE.

Note:  If you are considering ear piercing, please time this to coincide with a longer school break.  Children cannot take part in practical PE activities unless earrings are removed.

    Make up, Cosmetics and Hairbands
Make up and cosmetics are not considered appropriate or consistent with our school uniform.  The school does not permit such products to be worn by any children. This includes nail varnish and any enhancements, including gel and acrylics.

Hair ties, bands etc are essential for keeping longer hair tied back, these must be modest in style and in uniform colours.

All clothing and footwear must be clearly labelled with your child’s name so that lost items may be returned.
