Why do rollercoasters make us scream?

This term, we are going to be delving in to the heart-pounding world of theme parks and rollercoasters. The topic will cover elements of geography and science, and will involve the children taking on an exciting design and technology challenge to build a working prototype of their own theme park ride!

During the term, will be studying these geography questions:

• Where are theme parks located?
• How can we get from one place to another?
• Does the enjoyment we get from theme parks override the environmental impact?

And these D&T questions:

• What makes a good theme park ride?
• How do rollercoasters work?
• Can you design a new theme park ride that uses a pulley?
• How does it all come together?
• How could my model be improved?
