Communication and language is a fundamental skill your child will learn in Reception.

In Term 2 your child will:

Listening, attention and understanding:

• Listen to stories with increased attention and recall.

• Ask and respond to how and why questions.

• Listen to peers in a small group

Speaking:

• Continue to use learnt, new vocabulary throughout the day.

• Answer questions in front of whole class.

• Use talk when pretending that objects stand for something else in play.

• Ask simple questions. (how/why)
