Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Festival

On Friday 4th November 2 Tag Rugby teams represented our school in this local festival. All of the children enjoyed representing played some amazing rugby and made some new friends!

Well done to all who took part. 

Year 3/4 Dodgeball Festival

On Tuesday 8th November a team of very excited children participated in this dodgeball festival. Their faces told the story of the enjoyment and fun had by all-a massive smile! Great dodgeball skills were also demonstrated too. 
Well done to all of you!

Year 5/6 Basketball Festival 

an enjoyable afternoon of playing Basketball was had recently by a team of year 5 children. As the festival progressed so did the basketball skills of all of our team! Some brilliant points were scored as well as determination to win the ball back was demonstrated by all the team. Well done to all taking part. 

Year 5/6 Cross-Country Relay Race

On Friday 27th January our year 5 and year 6 teams took part in this event. The children have been taking part in regular training sessions to improve their long distance running.  All of this training certainly paid off!

We witness some amazing running performances as well as some fantastic sportsmanship (one of our runners stopped to support another runner who had lost their trainer in the mud!)

Our year 5 teams finished in 5th and 8th position.

Our year 6 teams finished in 1st and 6th positions.

Cheerleading Festival 

We arrived at the home of Vista Twisters with 6 very excited children! The children all had a try at doing jumps and tumbles. 
The children then watched a short demonstration from some of the Vista Twister athletes-it was then over to them to have a go at some of the stunts!
The children had a really amazing experience and cannot wait to try Cheerleading again. 

Year 6 Benchball Festival 

Our year 6 team had so much fun and enjoyment when participating in this festival. A few nerves at the start but what a performance! 5 wins out of 5! Amazing teamwork and support for each other! Well done to you all.

Girls Football Festival 

What a fantastic performance from our year 5/6 Girls team, it was so cold, wet and windy but this didn’t stop our girls playing some amazing football. Well done to you!

Swimming Gala

What a performance from all our swimmers! Every final made with four 1st, three 2nd, one 3rd and one 4th place finishing positions! 
Amazing perseverance and teamwork by all.

Year 5/6 Netball Tournament 

Our 2 teams had been training hard for this event over the last few weeks. The training certainly showed as both teams sailed through the group stages to the quarterfinals. The B team were then unfortunately knocked out of the competition. 
The A team continued to play some very skilful netball in this round so onto the semi final! Once again it was a real team effort to make into the final!

The final was a close game with Kingsdown taking a 1 nil advantage until the final seconds of the match, River scored with the last shot in the last second of the game - penalty shoot out! At this point River’s luck run out and Kingsdown went on to win 1-0 on penalties. Well played to you all,

Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics competition 

Our athletes were ready to tackle this event… competing in track and field events everyone put in a great performance. Throwing and jumping as far and high as they could as well as running as fast as possible in the very exciting relay races! All of the scores are added together and River finished in 4th place. Great team performance!

Year 5/6 Football Tournament

Our football squad played in this tournament at Deal Town Football club. Both teams enjoyed the afternoon of football and played some very attractive football!

River A finished in 3rd place and River B finished in 5th position. 

Year 5/6 Girls Rounders Festival 

A lovely sunny afternoon for a lovely afternoon of rounders for our girls! We started with a few nerves but throughout the afternoon all of our teams skills and confidence grew! The girls had so much fun and demonstrated all of our school values. Well done girls!
