What is an urban environment?

The aim of our topic this term is to learn all about urban environments and how places change over time. We will be covering objectives from geography, history and art.

For geography we will be learning about Dover and how it has changed over time. We will also be looking at sketch maps, aerial photographs and learning how to use four-figure grid references to describe the location of objects on a simple map.

In history we will be looking at primary and secondary sources and evaluating their usefulness.

For art, we will be exploring graffiti and considering whether graffiti is art or vandalism. We will learn about the famous graffiti artist Banksy and look at some of his most famous artworks. We also hope to improve our drawing and sketching techniques using a range of different media.
